Would be useful if it comes with some instructions. Easier to use if you undo the rope. Had no issues traveling with it in my hand lugage.

Easy to use, compact. The striker is usable, but it's much easier with the back of a pocket knife.

It does its job, and sparks fly, but it's quite difficult to use. In practice, the short string has to be completely removed in order to get enough movement for the ignition plate. At the same time, the magnesium stick doesn't have any kind of handle, so your fingers suddenly get sore when you scratch several times. I wouldn't recommend this, at least for a beginner for training.| Overall rating |

Compact but very efficient, with added plus of the bit of paracord for quick fixes

Good firesteel that attaches nicely on your belt with the paracord. Throws a good spark and works for the job.
