A high-edged plate with a lid and a mug with a lid work well, but you should think about whether there is really a need for a lid. The lids are complicated in shape, so they cannot be used as a cutting board, and opening is sometimes challenging. The handleless mug is also not optimal for hot drinks, because when it's hot, you can only hold it with your bare hands by the top edge. Threads and other holes make washing a bit of a challenge, and the set, when put together, ends up being quite a mess. If there is really a use for the lids and the closability, then this is definitely a set worth the compromises.
