Used for a few weeks at work. A small minus about the uppers, I didn't realize they didn't have any reinforcement, they're just fabric. Otherwise, nice and light shoes for work and I think for summer outings too.

I bought the shoes as a replacement for the "Meindl Pioneer", which unfortunately are no longer produced. After trying them on for the first time, the shoes are pleasantly soft and ideal for warm weather. Unfortunately, like all "modern" shoes, they have a clumsy profile, a very stiff sole and footbed that make it impossible to roll. This means you can trudge around the terrain without feeling the ground. Unfortunately, the Meindl were unique and will probably remain so (I had seven generations of them, almost all of which were resoled again after a few years). In my many years of mountain experience, I always wear two pairs of light running shoes in the summer because the mountain boots are far too stiff for me. I like jumping from rock to rock. Nevertheless, the Salomon XA Forces Jungle seems to me to be an acceptable compromise for fans of light shoes, at least in terms of weight and comfort.

Fairly breathable shoe. Although the stem is thin, it supports the ankle surprisingly well. Even in cool weather, wearing a double sock or a wool sock is fine. Hopefully the lining will last better than the Xa Forces Mid, where with less than two years of light use, the inside of the shoe was already tearing badly.
