The first one had a defective battery case, the lower battery wouldn't fit at all. Thanks to friendly customer service, I got a new one in its place, which the batteries easily slid into. The device is simple to use. On an indoor shooting range with 6 other shooters at the same time, these are not enough, but you should have earplugs or larger earmuffs underneath. On an outdoor range, the sound absorption is better. When hunting, I prefer to listen to external sounds without earmuffs, because the microphone doesn't pick up distant sounds and on the other hand, it makes an unpleasant humming sound at a higher setting. After five hours of being away, my earlobes start to hurt. They do their job, which is what I bought them for, but traditional earmuffs are always in my gun bag as a spare.

Defective headphones. Didn't work no matter which way I put the batteries in and even tried different batteries. I'm returning the whole thing. Now that I got new ones, they're good hearing protectors

Best active ear pro I have used. Amplified sound is crystal clear and very comfortable to wear for long periods. Don't let the "on paper" rating fool you, these have very effective noise reduction circuitry and much better than several other brands I have owned. Would recommend without hesitation.

Had a little problem with the first pair where the earmuff is defective. Extremely problematic with the sound where it rustled and all the s-sounds were picked up strangely and it sounded like people were lisping. I have received fantastic, quick help and am waiting for my new pair which should arrive next week.
