I used to have 7mm flippers, which are a bit too thick for travel flippers. They are easier to slip in and out of the flipper. The long-handled ones do provide better protection from hydroids and jellyfish stings.

They feel good and the grip on the slippery bottom works. The time spent in the water increased compared to swimming without shoes in this weather (previously my toes started to get cold after about 3 minutes)

The open water swimming experience became 100% more comfortable with these shoes, as my toes no longer get cold. True to size. I usually wear size 42 and now I chose size 41 so that they fit snugly on my foot, but it would have been worth choosing size 42, because they really do fit true to size.

Small size, but when you find the right size, it really works. I wear size 38 in shoes and the size XXS fit just right.
