A highly versatile, fully adjustable four-season pole built with premium materials, the Black Diamond Alpine Carbon Trekking Pole handles alpine backpacking routes, mid-winter expeditions and far-flung treks with ease. Three 100% carbon fiber shafts offer quick and secure length changes thanks to redesigned FlickLock Pro adjustability—which now features a more streamlined, aluminum design that’s lighter and easier to use.

The comfortable wicking cork grip has now been updated with a redesigned soft touch ergonomic grip top for better comfort, while the new solution strap draws inspiration from our harness technology and offers better security around the wrist when tackling steep terrain. A 38mm basket and interchangeable Tech Tips allow you to switch between carbide and rubber tips to account for changing trail surfaces.

Really comfortable poles, they hold up well even when hiking on harder rocks. The cork handles fit well in the hands and there is plenty of room to adjust the length. You have to get the plastic heads separately so you can also skid on asphalt.

For me, these rods act as an aid to mobility. I appreciate the light weight, easy length adjustment, the quick lock is sturdy. The restrained appearance is also good. I find it a pity that nowadays the snowman is not included in the poles.

After a few trips like new. One small torx screw had to be tightened during the trip - so take the Leatherman with you or tighten it when you leave.

Comfortable handle and quick adjustment but: The locks seem to require quite tight adjustment and can only be adjusted with a small Allen key. An adjustable lock with a screwdriver or even without tools would actually be much more convenient.
