Low-slung and sturdy shoes. In work use, e.g. in field and forest work. They seem very high quality. The insole can be removed and washed, which is a pleasant advantage in the hard use of the 8.

This is my third pair of Meindls. They are absolutely the best walking shoe made. I am very happy with the Caracas with Vibram soles. Would have liked to get the Goretex model but was not available at the time. Kudos also to Varuste. I am in the Whistler, BC, Canada area. Varuste shipped via FedEx and the shoes arrived amazingly 6 days after I ordered them from Helsinki. Wow.
