The Alloy Pocket Trowel is a durable, lightweight and compact backpacking trowel. The handle retracts into the blade to save space in your backpack and extends to the same length as the ideal ‘cathole’ depth. It's the perfect tool for practicing Leave No Trace principles in the backcountry and is made from a lightweight and strong 6066-T6 aluminum alloy.

— Show originalThe clip system seems really stiff, you can press and pull the cap of the handle when your fingertips are sore and it still won't come off. I solved it by leaving the whole handle out of the trip, the toilet paper can just as easily be put in a minigrip bag. I think the shovel part is good enough for digging even without a handle, you can get a good grip on it as well, and at the same time the weight of the shovel was comfortably light.| Overall rating |

I have read multiple bad reviews for this product on other websites. To me it worked just great. It's lightweight, steady and convenient. Never going trekking/hiking/camping without it again!

The flat shovel part (the same model as in children's sandbox games) does not bite into harder ground. Halpahalli's planting shovel does the same job better, while being half as light and cheaper.
