A clever crank that bites into the oxidation that has appeared on the surface. The slightly too sharp Kant of Alppi/board cranks is also possible. Consumables, which won't last forever, but with the affordable price, buying a new one is an easy decision. Works!

A good work tool to take with you on a trip, or in your pocket for the day of reckoning. On a trip, I have used a lighter thread to remove the edge, so that the edges stay on a better blade for longer. It also works for making edge "passes" if the edges are too sharp at the tip/base. Sometimes, also in connection with sharpening the edges, I have used it to remove the thread in the finishing, if I haven't been able to tune the diamonds, or I don't have it with me on the trip.
