Product description
Lundhags’ absolute warmest winter boot with a removable inner liner made from Wool Felt. The Polar Quest has a high shaft, a strong Cellular Rubber base and a Vibram® IceTrek Traction-sole.

The shaft made from Perwanger® Split Leather is a hybrid construction between our 1-layer and 3-layer boots. A powerful 3-layer construction encloses the foot and distributes pressure over the laces, while the top of the shaft is flexible and breathes better. A new tongue design makes any repairs easier.

The last has also been revised in order to fit into the Regular last category and provides better support even though the volume has been increased to make room for extra socks. A strong Cellular Rubber base with Certech® 5.0 construction provides good stability and insulation against the cold, while a softer Vibram® IceTrek Traction sole is perfect for icy conditions.

The first impression is that it is a boot with really good quality! Everything from the shoelaces and their loops to the seams and seams feel really solid and durable. The sole has a good, rough pattern and has so far (for lack of snow and ice) held the grip well on wet, mossy mountains. The detachable inner shoe feels thick and stable and provides good support in the boot. However, this can sometimes be difficult to get well in place: it folds easily in the heel and requires time and work to get nicely in place. But thanks to these, you get an extremely warm boot that easily kept warm with only a thin wool sock when stationary for a couple of hours in 0-degree weather. Among the negative points is that it feels very clumsy. Hard to get away with with such a warm boot, but it is a little too inflexible in the shaft and the high toe contributes to the clumsy feeling. The large space for the toes will certainly come in handy as the weather gets colder. Then I would have preferred the shaft to be made of full-grain leather like many of the other Lundhags models, mainly their 1-layer boots. It feels much easier to take care of than Perwanger, which is like suede and nubuck. Lundhags has good guides for boot care with films and text, but mentions nubuck / suede only in passing. It would have been interesting to see more fundamentally how Lundhags thinks one should treat a similar boot.

Qualified shoes seem. I will rate more as soon as the frosts come. Now, after walking on several trips, the shoes formed well on the foot. The walk-in was much easier than in the Lundhags in general, probably due to the thick woolen inner shoe. Sole with very good rubber grip.

Really sturdy and warm shoes. Require a decent run-in, like other Lundhags shoes.
