The Petzl William is a pear-shaped, asymmetrical (HMS-style) aluminum carabiner with automatic locking for working at height. The spacious shape of the carabiner allows for a large gate opening (27 mm) and a large loading capacity, which allows you to install multiple devices at once, or quickly make a Munteri knot for emergency escape or rescue. The Ball-Lock (press the button in-turn-open) automatic locking minimizes misuse, so the gate cannot be forgotten unlocked. A good choice when the carabiner is opened and closed frequently.
The H-profile of the body allows for high tensile strength and lightness, protects the identification markings inside the profile from wear and forms the contact surface with the rope that wears the least. The KeyLock gate is smooth and prevents equipment from getting caught (which happens with a normal hook-shaped gate). New Fluid Interior finish: The rounded end of the gate and the edge of the locking sleeve prevent fibers from getting caught in their corners, reduce fiber wear and make it easier to turn the locking ring into the correct position.
Breaking strengths: Longitudinal 27 kN, against the gate 8 kN, longitudinal with the gate open 8 kN.
Meets the requirements of the European CE EN362 and EN12275 standards and is also certified according to the Eurasian EAC and American NFPA 1983 Technical Use requirements.
