Product description
9.8 mm diameter lightweight single rope for gym or rock climbing.
The CONTACT 9.8 mm single rope is designed for gym and rock climbing. It strikes an excellent balance between low weight and durability, for greater versatility. Excellent grip and great handling make for easier manipulation and use of belay devices. The thickness of its sheath also contributes to its durability.
- User comfort:
- flexible rope makes it easier to give slack with belay devices
- EverFlex treatment: specific thermal treatment stabilizes core strands and improves consistency. It provides excellent grip and consistent handling over time
- ClimbReady Coil: special coil makes the rope ready to use. It helps the user avoid initial uncoiling mistakes, and increases longevity - Grip makes for easier handling:
- excellent balance of weight, diameter, and grip
- 40-carrier grip for better control
- Middle Mark: indicates the middle of the rope, to facilitate maneuvers - Durability:
- thick sheath provides excellent abrasion resistance
- UltraSonic Finish: the core and sheath are bonded together at the rope ends by an ultrasonic process. It provides greater durability and prevents frayed ends

— Show originalI wanted to have just one rope that would be enough for all indoor and rock climbing, and I think this fulfills that perfectly. The rope feels of high quality in every way. As a small downside, the rope slides through the Grigri too quickly, which makes lowering the climber a bit difficult. Also, since I actually climb mostly indoors, I might buy a shorter (and thus lighter) 40-meter and slightly thicker rope these days.| Overall rating |
