Due to their scale and accuracy, the series of sea charts published by the Finnish Transport Agency are suitable for archipelago and coastal navigation. The marine chart series tells, among other things, the locations of fairways and capes, underwater reefs and cables, as well as depth information. The sea chart set is a spiral-bound map sheet packed in a plastic pocket.

The map sheets of the marine chart series have been supplemented with detailed special maps to make boating safe in the vicinity of harbors and narrows. The scale of the map sets is 1:50,000 (1 cm on the map = 500 m). The coordinate system of the maps is EUREF-FIN (WGS 84).
