Product description
Simple, wonderfully light, and completely free standing, the Allak is an excellent all-around two person tent. A fully free standing 2 person all season tent with integrated vestibules that is also remarkably lightweight. Two doors and two entrances provide versatility and convenience.

Since Allak's introduction over 10 years ago, the two-person Allak has been one of our most popular tents. For 2019, we are introducing a three-person version, the Allak 3, and renaming the original model the Allak 2. Both remarkably light yet impressively strong Allak models are well-suited for anything from summer paddling to winter ski mountaineering, and from year-round backpacking to all-season peak bagging. They are easily light enough for mobile journeys, where you move your camp every day, and their two-entrance construction allows for superb ventilation options in warm weather. At the same time, the Allak's three-pole dome structure is strong enough for summer or winter base camp use in all but the worst conditions, and the fully freestanding construction make it ideal for tough pitching conditions, such as rocky ground and sand. In addition, its two integrated vestibules are set parallel to the sleeping area, giving excellent access to gear storage space as well as ease of entry and exit. Since its introduction, paddlers have valued the Allak’s ability to be pitched nearly anywhere, while backpackers choose it for its roomy stability and light weight. Mountaineers appreciate both the Allak’s freestanding design, compact footprint, and its roominess, as well as its ability to deal with snow loading. And taller adventurers find its length a welcome comfort.

Minimum Weight: 2.8 kg
Packed Weight: 3.3 kg
Outer tent fabric: Kerlon 1200
Poles (9 mm): 3 x 370 cm
Pegs: 12 V-Peg
  • Kerlon 1200 outer tent fabric and 9mm poles make for a very lightweight yet supremely stable tent.
  • All season construction: outer tent walls extend to the ground and mesh areas are backed with adjustable fabric panels.
  • Dome construction with multiple pole crossing points provide outstanding snow-load handling capability.
  • Plenty of room for two occupants and their gear.
  • Linked but seperable inner and outer tent for simultaneous pitching.
  • Fully free standing dome design requires no pegs for pitching, and the straightforward short sleeve and clip pole system make for quick, easy set up.
  • Dual entrances and vestibules ensure that one door can always be situated out of the wind and provide flexible entry/exit and storage options.
  • An optional footprint covers the entire area of the outer tent, including the vestibules. It connects directly to the tent, and can be left attached during pitching.
  • The inner tent can be replaced with a Mesh Inner tent.
  • The outer and inner tents can be used separately. Pitching the inner tent alone requires optional pole holders.

The approximate size of the packed product or the sales package is 200 x 250 x 500 mm.

It has been standing out during a few rounds of hurricane-like wind and rain, it did tip over but remains intact, perhaps I could have been tied it a little bit better. I have too little experience with it yet to evaluate it properly, It is not totally waterproof but it ought to keep dry if you have a layer underneath it which pretty much "undercovers" the floor when you are in a "wettish" area.

Fine tent; not yet user experience, but once put together it felt very high quality. It may be a good idea to buy thicker arches. Stands firmly even without stakes.

Due to the season, I can't say much about the product now. But the Allak 2 starts with full marks because it's a Hilleberg. If I should find something negative, I will write again.

A tent that feels like high quality. The details are carefully thought out. The green color is really dark, almost black.

The tent was pretty good! The packaging was in the box as it was, so it was a little dirty.

I received the tent and i brought it out for camping yesterday. This morning when packaging, I found several small holes on the small tent cover cloth on the top. It was only one night... kinda not so satisfied with the quality. And 7 days after sending email to varuste customer service for solving this problem, still no reply from hilleberg and varuste... so disappointed

brilliant piece of kit. used for the first time in moderate wind and rain and it never put a foot wrong. easy to pitch. recommend you do a trial pitch before your trip just to get familiar with it. its a little on the heavy side for a 2 person tent but easily worth that extra weight for this quality of tent. all guy lines were still taught in the morning despite the wind. very good line runners. my only criticism is with the pegs. their a bit on the short side so might be worth investing in some longer ones. might be ok in firmer ground but its quite soft where i go so longer pegs were needed. although the price is quite high for a 2 person tent you more than get your moneys worth. already planning my next trip and iv'e only just got back home. brilliant tent would recommend it to anyone wanting a quality tent who is willing to invest in quality equipment.
