There are several different types of sleeping pads; are traditional foam, inflatable inflatables and down infills. The new NeoAir from Therm-A-Rest is an ultra-compact, extremely light and 6cm thick aircraft built in a different way than before. It consists of a design on a sleeping mat where the air ducts of the base are arranged transversely, and inside each duct there are v-shaped compartments that effectively prevent air movement. The first note about the NeoAiria can is its phenomenally small volume and light weight, which on my Regular mat is 410g, the base measures 51 x 183 cm and when packed it takes up about a liter of space. The pad is meant to be used for three seasons and in a few degrees of frost it was great to sleep with cheap foam The base is easy to inflate completely, although the v-honeycomb structure provides some extra work compared to a normal longitudinal base. Due to its materials, the substrate feels very thin and easily decomposed, but based on a few tested nights, the substrate is still intact. However, I would recommend a space cover or something under the base, for example, that would protect the carpet from bursting. Finally, if you want an extremely comfortable and at the same time light and compact package, NeoAir is your choice. The disadvantages are that the platform is not available for winter use due to its R-value every 2.5, and that the NeoAir is made due to its lightness, so the service life is more likely to be shorter than other platforms.
