Lace up version of the famous Katana model. This version offers the same multifunctional use with additional technical solutions enabling the product to provide even higher levels of performance.
A lace up version of the famous Katana model which offers the same excellent multifunctional performance with the addition of several new technical solutions which further enhance the high levels of performance. The P3 System maintains the downturned shape unaltered for the life of the shoe. The innovative construction method inserts the lining between the leather uppers and the rubber rand, a solution which brings together the structural advantages of a lined shoe and the breathability and precision of an unlined shoe. The tongue is made using a soft and breathable material and the lacing system allows for optimum regulation of the internal volume of the shoe: all elements aimed at providing a great overall fit. The Vibram XS Edge sole allows to lightened the load on smaller holds. Katana lace is the perfect addition to La Sportiva’s climbing range.

I previously had size 42 in this shoe. Just a bit too tight for a male wearing 10.5 US or 44 2/3 in a Hoka running shoe. I persisted stretching this shoe in the hope of it getting more comfortable. It did not. The fabric on this shoe has little stretch potential. I decided to get a new pair in size 43. I was tempted to get 42.5 . I am very glad I selected size 43 as they fit perfectly with a snug fit that is not painful with a very good feel for the rock. Perfect for multi pitch and general climbing on crags where you want a reasonably comfortable pair but not so comfortable that you lose performance. The Katana lace up fits this bill brilliantly. I am very happy with these shoes. You can always squeeze your feet into smaller shoes but this can come at ruining the enjoyment of the climb if your toes are screaming in pain. Five stars for outdoor use. For bouldering I would suggest a different model of La Sportiva. It is impossible find a shoe that excels in all disciplines of climbing/bouldering. These Katana lace ups are brilliant but be careful of sizing if you wish to enjoy your climbing. The price from Varuste for this shoe was excellent.

Really "comfortable" shoe, wear a 9 US street shoe and 41.5 fits perfectly. The only problem is the toe rubber and rand is weak and has worn out within 3 months of use. This is my 5th pair of shoes and nothing has gone this fast. Varuste replaced for me so hopefully they last

Great Shoe. Unreal for edging. I found mine a little painful on the archillies tendon, but only on one foot, so maybe a little difference due to manufacturing. I wear size 42 Scarpa Vapor V (old model), and took these in a 41 and sizing seems spot on.

No need to worry about fit with laces. I have wide feet and don't fit in most Sportiva shoes except Katana Lace. Excellent for intermediate/experienced climbers. It's my second Katana Lace pair.
