Good poles have been in skating on a plowed track. Lightweight and comfortable surface to hold on to. You get a good momentum when skating and this way you also get the upper body involved in the action. However, you should be careful not to sink the spike into the grooves, you don't always want to get back on the swing from there. As a result of one of these falls, a clip came off myself, with which the rods were cleverly attached to each other during transport. As already stated above, these are not poles for touring ice skating, but for touring skiing and cross-country skating.

This is a skating stick, not a touring skating stick. A light rod with a hand loop is well suited for sticking in secured conditions, e.g. on the track. If you need to feel the ice, you have to do it with a firmer rod, often if necessary, and there is no harm in hand looping.
