Mammut's Haute Route trousers are trousers made from Mammut's own softshell material for demanding alpine conditions, such as ice climbing and off-road skiing. The trousers have been developed in collaboration with Active. The trousers have a raised back that prevents snow from entering the trousers, as well as leggings integrated into the trousers that bring comfort when walking in deep snow. Reinforcements can also be found on the inside of the foot on the skis of the ski and in the trouser slits. Combined with different strengths of sofhshell materials for wind resistance, the pants make it almost perfect for winter-like conditions. The material is water-repellent, but in winter the pants are not required to be fully waterproof. The pants have a warm thanks to the brushed fleece inner surface of the foot and are almost imperceptible on the feet, and even the wide state tracks succeed unnoticed and don’t look like sturdy “armor”. The trousers therefore use Mammut's patented combination of Drytech 3-layer scratch material and a stretchy, highly breathable softshell material called Softtech. Both materials are thus Mammut's patented materials, although e.g. Gore can find similar materials. The materials are concentrated in the trousers, ensuring better wind resistance at the front of the trousers and breathability elsewhere. In addition to the above, the features of Haute Route trousers include; -2 flexible front pockets that are surprisingly spacious back pocket -vents with zippers at the top of the sides of both thighs -predicted and reinforced knees knees -Integrated belt and suspenders As well as the leggings mentioned earlier, reinforced inner edges of the trousers SOFtech material combines the second and third layers in the garment, guaranteeing weather resistance for the most part in all conditions. Mammoth's DryTech material, on the other hand, guarantees higher performance with a laminated material that guarantees complete protection from wind and water. During the winter season, my choice was for Mammut’s softshell pants for the reasons already mentioned. I wanted pants that will last for the next season and the next. When looking for pants for this season, instead of Haglöfs' well-served Goterex Windstopper Dynamo pants, I chose the following features when looking for pants -Breathability so that the physical test during heavy exercise does not cause sweat to freeze on the inside of the trousers but to breathe better -Perfect wind resistance, nothing is worse than a biting wind on a slope or in the open terrain -Durability so you don't have to buy new pants for each season. Saves little money and nature -Approved garments you can trust -Appearance - if the trousers are used for more than a dozen hours a week, it also matters The pants I bought in size 50 which corresponds to size L, and are just right for 188/85 size scarves. Appropriately tight but trajectories allow thanks to the materials. The hardest frosts where I’ve been wearing pants for those good ten days have been around 25 degrees, when I’ve only used the underlayer under my pants, and I’ve done well. If the movement were more static the powerfleece pants would be a boy. After these days of use, the pants are like new and have become my favorite pants from now on. While living at the wolf border, you can get acquainted with the pants by using the manufacturers' websites, blogs and mail-order return rights. I went through the manufacturers from Arcteryc, Marmot, Haglöfs and Vaude (The price range for the trousers was 300-150 euros) and the Mammut trousers turned out to be the best package for winter use, and were, among other things, a good cheapest option. Mammut 's Haute Route will probably experience changes for the new season, but if you can find the previous season' s model at a cheaper price (I actually paid about 150 euros, then it is not worth thinking about buying them twice.
