Product description

- Pohjaraudat pitkät = Long Traction Rails.
- Erittäin hyvä pito kaikissa olosuhteissa
- Pituus 61 cm

We tested a Tubbs FLEX NRG and TRK 24 "snowshoe with a group of 3 people on the recommendation of Sami Halén (Oittaa) and we were positively surprised. The event was on January 6, 2009 in the area, 8h Rogaine orienteering organized by the girls of Rasti-Jyry in a rather brave, but challenging terrain with a hill, water, open and a bit of a bush along the way. There were only a few stretches of road. The snow was 30 - 50 cm, and had a relatively light surface layer of about 15-20 cm and a couple of clearly heavier layers below. Even at such depths, the shoes work well for our purpose, that is, for navigation in our closed sense, even though the ad says it is meant for “Nordic walking” on hard platforms. A bigger shoe would certainly have carried better, but these were excellent for navigation due to their small size, they could fit in bad places, such as crossing wind gusts. The climbing characteristics were also excellent; miraculously got up the steep so-called. "four-wheel drive" slope. The downward entry was also due to the soft, fast-paced flexible stern. Without snowshoes, we wouldn’t have had time to pick up so many ticks in the same amount of time. Advanced orienteers on skis did not fare agile snowshoeers in this terrain. The shoes provided an adequate effort base. I would only take bigger snowshoes in more open and off-road terrain, and even then only if skis weren’t available. Here's a "race report" on the subject if interested: http://lupusextreme.blogspot.com/2010/01/loppiais-rogainingin-raportti.html

How to choose snowshoes

Snowshoes Snowshoeing is easy and fun. If you can walk, you can snowshoe. With snowshoes, you can walk over snow without sinking in it. With normal shoes, you usually sink. Whether you want to walk and take it easy, or run and exercise, it is many times funnier with snowsho...
