A week at sea is now behind us. We had your beer at m / aux Inga Lill (more information eg www.merihelsinki.net or www.kaljaasi.net) at a meeting of traditional sailing ships in Skutmöte, Åland. On the way we drove by car from Helsinki to Kasnäs, from Kasnäs we sailed via Korpo Ström and Degerby to Mariehamn. On the return trip we left again in Kasnäs and the ship continued its journey to Helsinki. Amazonas Bambi was a ship for a great shopping! Our Alex son was able to sleep in it from day one, and Bambi's quiet swing combined with the sound of the ship's engine lulled him to sweet dreams time and time again. For us Alex’s parents, the harness brought a sense of security, it was possible to leave him to sleep so that we didn’t sit next to him all the time. We placed Bambi in the hold of the ship, where all the crew members sleep. We attached the Bambi with a quick-release hook to hang from a metal bar in the ship’s structures above a padded couch so that the height to the bench was a maximum of 25 cents. Depending on the sea and the weather, we then supported Bambia with the seat cushions to swing more moderately or almost rocklessly or let it hang freely. Alex sometimes slept in light weather very lightly dressed in underwear in it, sometimes under a fleece blanket, or even in his moisture-proof outer cover with a hat on his head. It was convenient to hang the bamboo strings on the clothespins to hang, for example, a towel for sun protection, so that the little sailor would not be dazzled. Likewise, the laundry boys could have been hung on it, for example, if a mosquito net had been needed. It was that ability to transform that made Bambi unbeatable. Nights Alex slept in his travel cot. I think our entire crew will remember this summer vacation sailing just as the sailing when Alex was on the voyage. Alex and Bambi in their sweetness certainly attracted everyone's attention and the hanging condition was considered a matter of course belonging to the ship, but that there were some of them too! Many adults sleep on board regularly in their night hammock.
