I really liked the Altra Timp Hiker without GoreTex — they are perfect for summer weather. So I decided to get the Olympus for colder and wetter conditions. They fit very comfortably on the foot. They secure the foot better than the Timp Hiker. The outsole is excellent, providing great grip on the surface and helping you stay on slopes. They have a very stylish design, which is very important to me as someone with an eye for aesthetics. The waterproofing is great. I walked through puddles, and snow, and they didn’t let any moisture in. As for the downsides. With GoreTex, my feet start to get sweaty. Not dramatically, but still noticeable — and this is in cold weather. I’m afraid to imagine what will happen in hot summer conditions. And that’s when I start to question the point of GoreTex. It protects against moisture from the outside, but your feet end up wet on the inside anyway. This increases the likelihood of getting blisters. So I’m giving it a 4 out of 5. And I’ll be using them only in cold weather.

Good grip and stable, the upper is durable and insulates well.
The disadvantage is that they are very stiff and part of the sole is foam (cushioning, foam) and not rubber.
But it is in places that do not mean as much in grip. The biggest risk is that things can penetrate the shoe.
Small in size, chose 43. Have 42.5 on Altra Lone Peak 9+ and they still feel a little longer and significantly roomier.| Overall rating |
They fit perfectly but are not waterproof.
