S/LAB ULTRA is the fruit of a uniquely collaborative vision between renowned ultra runner François d’Haene and Salomon. Redefining the limits of pinnacle product performance, it's the first shoe to keep performing after 10 to 15hrs of racing. A foam and plate combo carve out new territory for ultrarunning bringing previously unexplored sensations.
A unique configuration of double-layered, ultra soft Energy Foam in the midsole provides optimal and stable ultra-distance cushioning over tricky, changing trail conditions. The Profeel plate sandwiched in the midsole acts as an effective filter between your feet and the ground for long-distance protection over challenging mountain terrain. The comfortable, breathable upper has been built from durable, Kevlar-enhanced Matryx fibers that are light, quick-drying and abrasion-resistant.

— Show originalExceptional, these are the best shoes of my entire running life...40 years of road and trail running.Much more cushioning than the Kilian Jornet inspired S\Lab Ultra 2 and 3 models. This version is designed in collaboration with Francois D'Haene and features a higher stack height and ample cushioning for Ultra races on the mountains. Lugs are just long enough for grip in wet conditions but not so long that they make it hard to run on any gravel\road sections. Fit is glove-like and the Profeel plate offers enough protection and propulsion
