I have been using Salomon shoes for several years. I have been very satisfied with the shoes. Especially the last two shoes, which have been wide models (Wide), have suited my foot particularly well. Salomon shoes are often a bit stiff at first, but after a short period of shaping they fit the foot very well.

The fit of the shoes, at least on your own foot, is excellent and the quick lacing is really convenient. They are a bit slippery in winter weather, which is why the fifth star was not given.

I got the shoes to replace Salomon's previous strapless hiking shoes (I don't remember the model) which served for almost 8 years in year-round use, until they finally succumbed to a condition beyond repair. Those shoes cemented my faith in Salomon shoes. The first impression of these shoes is that they are "sturdier" but also much sturdier with a harder sole than the previous ones. So they don't serve as "comfortable" shoes as the previous model, but the sturdiness and the quality of the manufacturing promise for these shoes at least as long a service life as their predecessors. The wide last also brings its own element of comfort! The only downside is Salomon's decision to replace the good quality laces with these turnbuckles, which are not as durable and get damaged more easily when going faster.
