Acquired 6/2023. Very comfortable on the feet and nice to wear, but the durability of the sole is completely non-existent in its class. The use is mainly frisbee golf, so you have to give a little slack to the durability requirements of the shoe, because the sport is very heavy on the shoes. Even with double knots, the ribbons don't want to stay closed. Too slippery and round in shape.
With the exception of the sole, the shoe has withstood last summer's and this season's active fribbing just fine. Only a small opening of the gluing seam can be seen on the right (on the stilt leg). This also appeared after only one month of use in July. It was then glued in place, but has since opened a little again.
The base of these doesn't last long in its own sport, and I don't think it will last very well in other sports either. The material of the sole is soft and rubbery, the knobs are quite high and very thin, and they do not have any kind of support to prevent them from tearing off. Significant chipping appeared in these after only 1 month of use, and now the toe and heel are practically smooth and pretty much unusable due to the lack of grip.
I hope Merrell would make a new version of the old All Out Terra Trails, which you can still find yourself. Their base is still usable after several years of use. They only have a weakness in the gluing of the sole and the durability of the shoe.
A couple of runs behind me and I've been satisfied. They support the foot well and the cushioning of the sole is sufficient even for longer trips. The grip may not be the best possible on an icy surface, but for example a wet, more frictional set works better. Yes, these feel really good on the feet, I hope the thickness of the sole has been reduced a bit in the next model.
