Product description
Built to perform on variable terrain and rolling hills, the MIL 160 delivers exceptional edging capabilities and provides ample control on descents. Its stiff camber allows for greater weight distribution across the entire length of the ski, making it ideal for larger users and those skiing with a heavy pack. With an overall narrow profile, the MIL 160 is efficient when traversing across flat ground, yet still provides the grip needed for extended climbs.
  • OAC Braid box construction
  • Compression-resistant elastic foam core
  • Patented OAC Unicoat skibase
  • ABS reinforcements in base tip and tail
  • Integrated high quality Mohair-mix skin
  • ALU/GF reinforcement at binding area
  • Steel edges

Previously tested a shorter model. Compared to expectations, no surprises. Suitably agile and capable. Directional stability hard, a little wobbly. I think it works best with slightly packed snow.

Good sliding snowshoes for the closed, but the lateral grip is weak. The calculation is possible as long as the slope is steep enough. As a rule, there is enough grip for vertical climbs. Ties are a minus, they squeak and squeak quite a lot, the choice of shoes affects this to some extent.

I debated for a long time between the wider KAR 149 and the longer XCD GT 160 models. The combination of carrying capacity and skiability I was looking for was realized in this XCD BC 160 model, which to my great luck was also available in the right m05 design, suitable for the winter forest, instead of the flashy GT models. From forest skis, these are still a step towards snowshoes and a more walking style of skiing, but they are multi-purpose skis that are just right for hanging out in the backwoods, and even quite light. For long-distance skiing, however, it is worth choosing long skis without hair.

So far, I've really enjoyed skiing in the woods with these.

Excellent skis for mobile hunting in winter. A winter deer hunt or even a deer hunt goes through even denser bush when the driver is driving these!

How to choose snowshoes

Snowshoes Snowshoeing is easy and fun. If you can walk, you can snowshoe. With snowshoes, you can walk over snow without sinking in it. With normal shoes, you usually sink. Whether you want to walk and take it easy, or run and exercise, it is many times funnier with snowsho...
