The 3-layer Granite Crest Jacket is ideal for all-day movement on the trail in wet conditions. It’s designed to be both high performance and responsibly made with NetPlus® 100% postconsumer recycled nylon ripstop made from recycled fishing nets to help reduce ocean plastic pollution; with a PFC-free DWR finish (durable water repellent coating that does not contain perfluorinated chemicals). And, it meets Patagonias H2No® Performance Standard for waterproof/breathable protection and is Fair Trade Certified™ sewn.

  • Shell is made of 3-layer H2No® Performance Standard NetPlus® 100% postconsumer recycled nylon ripstop made from recycled fishing nets to help reduce ocean plastic pollution; with a slick jersey backer, a waterproof/breathable barrier and a PFC-free DWR finish (durable water repellent coating that does not contain perfluorinated chemicals)
  • Hood with laminated visor effectively sheds water, plus two-way adjustment provides good visibility in poor conditions with or without a helmet
  • Center-front zipper and chest pocket with watertight zips and zipper garages; two welted handwarmer pockets stay clear of pack waistbelt or harness
  • Pit zips with welted, watertight two-way zippers provide ventilation
  • Jacket has low-profile, self-fabric hook-and-loop cuff closures and self-stuffs into left-chest pocket

I really recommend this jacket! Very light waterproof and windproof jacket. Ideal as a third layer and goes everywhere thanks to its reduced size and weight. This Patagonia jacket replaces my old NorthFace light summit series model. All without PFC! a big plus I think. The design is well thought out for this Granite Crest: the collar rises very high to ward off wind and snow, the hood is adjustable to stay in place in case of severe weather. The seams and closures are waterproof. Pocket on the chest is a little extra too. The closure attachments are made of simple cord, which allows them to be replaced easily. This too is ingenious. The size of the jacket is large enough to use the jacket in winter with many layers underneath. The only downside in my opinion: the Velcro fasteners to tighten the wrists. The "scratch" fabric may degrade a little faster than other systems.
