I don't know much about belt bags, I ended up buying this one mainly because of the reasonable price and size. The purpose was to get an easy-to-carry bag for pole walking/really light camping that could hold keys, a water bottle and a small camera. A half-liter bottle won't fit here very well, but a 0.33l whiskey bottle will (even with the camera). The profile of the bag is flat and the frame is sturdy, so when empty this goes really discreetly with me, when I pack a bottle of wine, a protein bar, a compact camera and keys, there is still plenty of room for, for example, a film can where I have packed allergy medicines and plasters. On the "wrong side" of the bag, i.e. on the side that is against the body, there is also a hidden pocket for a mobile phone from which it can be quickly taken out and two smaller pockets where a pen or a small comb can conveniently slip.
