It works well in use. There is a plastic component inside for use with electrolytes. It is a good idea to remove the filter to let it dry after use. A downside is that, after repeated use, you have to press the bottle down using your own body weight.

It has worked just as it should and doubles as a water bottle. I’ve used it to filter some pretty dirty water, which meant changing the filter more often—though that’s only natural. Now that I’ve got a hydration bladder, I’m wondering if I should switch to a version that’s lighter when empty. On the other hand, this one is fast to use, so it’ll definitely be sticking around for a long time.
