Product description

Comfort: 12°C (54°F)
Comfort limit: 5°C (40°F)
Extreme: -4°C (25°F)

High performance, lower impact. The Rab Solar Eco bags are built with recycled fabrics and recycled Stratus™ insulation. The Solar 0 is ideal for the summer mountain bothy goer and the globetrotting backpacker, with a wide shape for a comfortable night's sleep.

These resilient synthetic bags are filled with 100% recycled Stratus™ insulation, and lined and covered with a tough, 20D, recycled Atmos™ fabric with ripstop. Hardwearing, warm, and dependable, they are fast drying and cope with condensation and damp conditions.

The Solar Eco 0 is insulated with a single layer of Stratus™ for reduced weight and bulk. The localised quilting simply means that the stitching which holds the insulation in place has been minimised to reduce the chance of cold spots. Packing down to just 30cm x 16cm, it’s incredibly low bulk and stashable. Perfect for summer climbing trips, bivis in warm climates and backpacking adventures.

The Solar Eco has an adjustable hood which can be cinched in snug around the face to shut out the chill and an adjustable neck baffle to stop the heat escaping. The ¾ length zip has an additional baffle along its length that acts as an effective draught excluder with an anti-snag zip guard. The wide mummy fit offers space to find your most comfortable sleeping position, with room for extra layers should night-time temperatures plummet.

  • 20D Atmos™ recycled polyester ripstop fabric (41gsm) with fluorocarbon free DWR
  • Single layer blanket construction for reduced weight and packsize
  • Localised quilting to reduce cold transmision
  • Adjustable hood closure system with elasticated drawcord and cordlock adjuster
  • Close fitting adjustable neck baffle design for improved warmth retension
  • YKK 3/4 length main zip with synthetic insulated zip baffle to trap warmth
  • Anti snag internal zip guard
  • Compression stuffsack included
  • Mummy shape

Perfect for indoor sleeping in 5 to 20 degrees room temperature (used it on Camion Frances during spring 2024) Easy to wash and dry Had one encounter with a bedbug in Spain and all equipment went to the dryer for 2-3 hours and nothing survived except my beautiful sleeping bags

Very light. Not necessarily to the indicated temperature lower limits, but otherwise works well.

Packs into a very small space, an easily packable summer sleeping bag that has worked flawlessly for sleeping in a tent at +7-10 degrees. Two sleeping bags can be combined into one big bag with zippers.

Light bag, fits in a small space, feels comfortable to sleep. I spent one night at the lowest temperature of +8 degrees (according to the weather report), and it did get really cold. I don't believe in extreme -4 degrees, unless I throw some quilt in the bag. I thought that this would be fine for the summer, but I guess I have to think carefully for the next trip. The lack of a compression bag is also a minus.

A brilliantly light summer bag. A quality product. Tested at the lower limits of the comfort temperature and the temperature would seem to be correct when sleeping without clothes. The packaging bag took some getting used to, but once you learn how to use it, it works perfectly too.

A couple of nights of sleep, going about his business. I haven't tried this in desert conditions, but at least occasional cabin sleeping works well.

Packs up small, lightweight. Have used it down to about 6c and was warm enough.

All in all, a good sleeping bag for summer nights. Price and lightness come together nicely.

Had the pleasure to use it for 23 nights while walking the Camino de Compostela in the spring 2024. Each night was on bunk beds with room temperature between 5 and 18 degrees. Yes I had to wear extra clothing for the coldest nights but all in all very happy with the price, quality, size and weight. You can wash it as often as needed and it will dry fast. 100% happy.

This bag was used at +10 degrees for one night and at times felt a little cool, but both kept just very warm. The compression bag tightening system was special, so it may not be fully tightened, but it still works. I was positively surprised at how small the bag gets into the space and how light it is. Definitely a functional bag on warmer nights.
