It's bigger. It's better! Your favorite peak-grabbing bag (the In & Out 19) gets a facelift and a new size – meet the 22 L option. It’s still light as a feather and maintains the self-stuffing feature.

This is supposed to be a "packable" daypack. Whether the bag literally packs inside it's front pouch, the packed size is far bigger than most backpacks in this category. Deceptively, once unpacked the bag is not that big and its preached 22 liters seems a bit tight to me. The two front pockets are not very useful: the top one is too small to put but a wallet, a cell phone, glasses or keys (just one item each time) and the lower one, maybe a thin book, a map or so. Unfortunately those are mesh pockets, so rain will indeed reach its content quickly. Craftsmanship is top notch, as expected from Mystery Ranch, but I find the in & out just doesn't tick the boxes for me, as it is more a summit oriented pack rather than a foldable EDC pack, and even packed it is still too big to consider bringing it as secondary bag.

Very good pack. Lightweight but comfortable to carry.
