The first thing I noticed was that the jacket has a basic Gore-Tex membrane, even though it is not mentioned even on the manufacturer's website. Therefore, the advertised minimum of 10,000 mm sounds like a rather understated promise. In any case, I mainly thought about the quality of the membrane when making the purchase decision, and in that regard, the Gore fabric label on the jacket allayed any concerns about the quality of the membrane. The jacket is reasonably narrow in size, meaning there is no huge wind pocket around the stomach, although the size I chose can fit a thicker fiber jacket as insulation without it starting to tighten the shoulders. The size is appropriate in itself, because the sleeves rise under a thick midlayer, but not too much. The chest pockets are placed appropriately high so that the waist strap of a backpack or climbing harness does not prevent the use of the pockets. The outer pockets are also spacious, but I would have liked a little more size in the inside pocket for thicker gloves. The jacket is "for heavy use", but the outer fabric does not seem to be any more durable than normal. As others have noted, the fabric also makes quite a noise. In a short test, it seems to be of very good quality for the price, since the membrane is also the aforementioned Gore-Tex. Minus one star for the slightly strange fabric (noise, stiffness, but not particularly strong), and in addition, the neck of the jacket is strangely tight when you pull the zipper all the way up, the fleece collar alone underneath causes a strangling feeling. Under a fiber jacket, the zipper cannot be pulled all the way up without starting to strangle even worse, even though the jacket is for "cold and wet" conditions. A good development would also be a fold made in the fabric of the wrist guards on the sleeves, which would make it easier to fold the extensions inside the sleeve when they are not needed, now they constantly slip open and are in the way when they are not needed. Time will tell how well this, like any shell jacket, holds up to the weaker parts, i.e. the taping of the seams.

Used this jkt for a time now and is very satisfied. I have used it on the range, hiking with backpac and tracking with my dog. Overall it meets my demands. Keeps rain and wind out. Good pocket placement when using backpac or chestrig. God zipper ventilation. Fabrick seems durable. I am 176 cm and use size M. It fits very god with some rome too spare for unerwearing sweaters and more layering. I recomend Carinthia.

It rustles, is stiff and the material feels weak. The price does not match the quality in any way. The new loftshell gives much more value for money.
