Product description
The gaiter is not waterproof but dense enough to repel light rain and snow, still with a very high level of breathability. A major injury risk during winter is that the Achilles tendon gets wet, cold and stiff. Sealing the edge of the shoe, and adding warmth to this area, helps preventing this problem.

— Show originalThey work well, prevent snow from getting into the ankles completely when running on the trails. Fits particularly well with ice bug shoes, as there is also a hook on the front of the leg. Not all shoes may have a loop to attach it to. I took M size for a 40 size foot.
