Alpine touring, How to choose -guides, Snowkiting by Varuste.net, 27.10.2020
Freerider's checklist:
- shovel, probe, transceiver
- first aid kit, light
- map, compass, phone
- water container (isolated hose in case of bladder) and food
- insurance that covers skiing off piste

Avabag: The most common inflatable avalanche backpack system. Works with gas cartridge. The disadvantage: expensive training (refills of cartridge).

Jetforce: Inflatable avalanche backpack system with battery driven electronic activation system. Jetforce represents the latest technology with a battery-powered fan inside. The lack of gas cartridge enables training without extra costs. In addition, there is no special attention required for travelling.

Mammut / Snowpulse: Inflatable avalanche backpack system, works with a gas cartridge. It was originally a gas cartridge system developed by Snowpulse and quite similar to ABS. Mammut bought Snowpulse a few years ago, after which the airbag has been running under the name of Mammut. The cartridges of Snowpulse and those of Mammut are compatible with each other. The disadvantage: expensive training because of the refills.

Avalung: Black Diamond Avalung includes a hose, thanks to which you can breathe either through the backpack or your jacket.
