Woox Arkansas Sharpening Stone

Whetstones are mined in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas. The stones are made of Novaculite, a rock made of quartz crystals that give Arkansas stones their unique sharpening ability. These crystals have a Mohs hardness of 7 which is much harder than any other steel used for making knives accessories.

To use Arkansas whetstones, it is recommended using water as a lubricant because it is thinner than oils. After each use, whetstones should be cleaned by wiping the excess water with Bamboo cloth and then clean the stone with soapy water.
