We in Zpey would like to offer a pragmatic view on choices. Whether it’s about, speycasting or overhead casting, single or double hand casting or about single or double hand fly rods, our advice is: “Why choose? Why not have it all?” The concept of “Zpey Switch” is all about pure, single hand fly rods that, through an attachable handle (of the bent kind) become light double handed rods of equal purity. Our three first series, “Lean Green”, “Real Steel” and “True Blue”, consisted of a total of 22 models from # 3 to # 9, with deep actions and short stroke length. The rods were very well received by fly fishers all over the world. Several models were proclaimed “Best in Test” in different magazines.

This time we wanted to add to our Switch Family with a new series of rods, made from the same quality carbon, but to a more reasonable price. We have called them “Z1” and the series consists of 11 models between # 4 and # 8. The rods are slightly faster than their one year older brothers, but you can still reach the very depth of the rods when you need to. We have made two new 9 footers (# 4 and # 5), three 9 ½ footers (# 6, # 7 and # 8), four 10 footers (# 4, # 5, # 6 and # 7) and two 11 footers (# 6 and # 8). In other words, Z1 represents Zpey’s first 9 ½ footers and fills out our eleven foot range from last year (# 5, # 7 and # 9) with our new rods in # 6 and # 8. This means that from 2009 we area able to present you with a total of 33 different models proudly carrying the ”Zpey Switch” name.
