Durable, comfortable and loaded with functions – despite its fairly modest appearance, Kajka is an advanced trekking backpack in the classic Fjällräven spirit. Now upgraded with fine-tuned and improved functions and an innovative, one-of-a-kind wooden frame that impacts the environment considerably less than previously while maintaining its strength and functionality. The support system is designed to distribute even extremely heavy loads, and the user-friendly Perfect Fit Adjustment System allows easy adjustment for different bodies – in terms of both back length and width between shoulder straps. The generous hip belt offers a high degree of carrying comfort on long hiking days.
The main compartment is loaded from the top and has a snow lock. It also has a large vertical opening in the front and another one at the bottom to help the user get an easy overview of the contents. It can be divided into an upper and lower section. The lower section has Wet/Dry compartments to keep damp and dirty equipment from the rest of your things. There are also practical zippered pockets in the top lid, sides and hip belt. The top cover can be removed and worn as a waist or chest bag when you want to keep a close eye on your valuables. Two compression straps on each side fasten onto small poles for even and effective compression without blocking the side pocket openings. Attachment points on the top cover and bottom of the backpack. Whistle on the chest strap and rain cover with reflectors. Kajka has been praised by hikers all over the world as well as by the trade press.

A night's deliberation between Jääkäri XL and Kajka 85 resulted in Kajka. I just got off my back at the end of the 70km first trip, starting weight was 27.5kg. Good: lots of pockets that are roomy and functional, at least when new it can hold a little rain even without protection, good adjustments, good to carry even when heavy. The opening front flap is good in the tent, the removable top flap that opens in all directions is really good, you can easily reach small things and take them with you. Also works as a loose bag. Big, really big, side pockets. To be improved: a water bladder inside the main pocket, i.e. you have to empty the main pocket to fill it, the side pockets should have zippers on the front and back. If the backpack is with its back against the ground, the pockets are really difficult to use. Apparently made this way, you can use the pockets on top of the rain cover. There could be a little more loops on the outside for tying different things, especially in the "cover" of the main pocket.
All-around functional and durable, sturdy to carry, good pockets, especially if you add other zippers to the side pockets. One star goes to the usability of the water bladder pocket and the direction of the side pockets.
